Thursday thrifty tips…

TIP #1:

I have been finding LOTS of coupons that do not specify size of product and have been using them on travel/trial size items. Most of these items have worked out to be FREE or have OVERAGE! I have conducted this “expirement” at Kroger and Target and it has worked at both. Keep in m ind that Target is not supposed to give overage so find fillers. I checked the clearance sections and found items that I had coupons for. Some of those items worked out free or cost very little. I’m geting ready to take a run to Walmart and CVS to find out if it there are the same deals there.

TIP# 2:

I keep a pocket knife in my purse for multiple reasons. It’s handy to open toys that come in those packages that are made to go to the moon. (Thomas the train especially!) Cut tags off new sunglasses, shoes, etc. Yesterday I found a new use for it. My son wanted to ride one of the little car rides in the mall. We put our quarters in and they got stuck. The release button was jammed and we were getting frustrated. Then I remembered I had my knife. I managed to get out our $.75 PLUS $.50 more! Was this wrong to take money that wasn’t ours? I like to think not b/c I worked for it (sort of). The other people clearly were not concerned about it b/c they left it. Anyway the point of the story is my $10 pocket knife is more than handy.
