How to Filter Your Status Update Page on Facebook

I will be the first to admit that I’m not the biggest fan of social media. It’s ok and I see the point, however, when I have to weed through all the “junk” to get to see my real friends it deters me from wanting to use it period.

I’ve always said that Facebook should have a way to separate your friends updates from page updates. While the method I’ve recently discovered is a little time consuming, I feel it will be worth it.

Here are 3 easy steps for filtering your status page:

  1. Click on the company you wish to filter.
  2. Locate the “liked” tab and click it.
  3. Choose to either “unlike” them or simply remove their updates from your news feed. i.e. status updates page.

I’ve been working on this the past week or so and haven’t noticed any pages reoccurring in the status page.  There is the option of “hiding” however I have found that nothing stays hidden forever.
