Have you heard yet? Kroger kills again!

Yes Kroger the store that used to be the place to go around here or double triple coupons, has killed again.  Killed what?  The coupon! The desire for anyone to want to coupon there.  The joy of coupon stacking with your e-coupons and paper coupons.

Supposedly when they stopped the dbl/trpl in Houston it was because “our economy had not been affected like others and in order to keep our prices low we have to cut the program”.  The reps also stated that the new gas rewards program was much more desired by consumers than the coupon program.

Um…WRONG!  We all knew that was not a whole truth and here another reason why.  Effective 9/14/2011 NO Krogers in Texas will double of triple coupons!  Yes, we are part of the TX/LA division BUT guess what?  Louisiana gets to keep their dpl/trpl coupons!  Isn’t that something

What are your thoughts?

Well that stinks. Here in San Antonio, TX we have no other large grocery chain except HEB so it doesn’t really matter! HEB does whatever they want here because they have no real competition. I WISH we had Kroger just for the competition.

In Colorado, the Kroger Affiliates Central Market and King Soopers has made a limit of three coupons of like items and may deny shoppers coupons at any time. I say, we did the work! Let us get the deals!! The stores get the money from the manufacturers so why do they care. They are being very diligent against fraud where I am and have found many people trying to scheme the stores…just by training the employees to read the coupons, just like we have trained ourselves.
