Things to consider when shopping at HEB.  Coupons are for face value
onlyBe careful when considering Combo Locos. If you don’t have
coupons to stack with them or you don’t need the item you have to
purchase don’t do it.  In store coupons are manufacture coupons.
Coupons can not be used for the “free” items in combos.
H-E-B has posted their coupon policy online!

YAY!!! I’m excited for you! Keep me updated and if you have any more questions let me know.

Thanks Heather! It worked perfectly this time! I was successfully able to stack a manufactures coupon and a “get a free HEB item” coupon together for both toilet paper and detergent! Thanks again!

Just read the HEB coupon policy- finally got it to come up for me. I guess I never noticed that there are different letters on the yellow coupons. Not sure what was on the cereal coupons, I will check next time I go.

Let me know how round 2 goes!

That’s a great deal on CF cereal. Occasionally you find a cashier that will allow stacking on yellow MFG and regular MFG coupons. Like I said before if they are marked with a M you are not supposed to be able to stack. Always make sure your ad matches the store you’re shopping. We have about 5 store with in a few miles of each other in Katy and they all have different ads…really strange but whatever.

Thank you so much Heather, it makes sense to me, I’m going today for round 2, and hopefully I am successful this time! Thanks!

Hi! Just got back from HEB with a great deal on Cascadian Farm cereal. Some of them were priced at $2.48. They have yellow store coupons for $1 off any CF cereal (good thru 2/1), then on some of the boxes there were $1 off 2 man. coupons. So stacked together, I got them for $.98/box! Do you know their policy regarding stacking? Sometimes they let me, sometimes they don’t.

Also, I found out today that their sale ads they send in the mail are regional! Didn’t know that! I was planning on getting a chicken deal that was in my ad, but they didn’t have it. I looked at my ad again and noticed that the prices are only good at a few particular stores.

Yes. The coupon takes off the price of the HEB toliet paper and the QN is unaffected, therefore you can use the MFG coupon for the Northern. You are still using one coupon per item specified on the coupon…make sense? If you’re ever unsure why they tell you that you can’t use a coupon don’t be afraid to ask why and ask for a manager if the cashier is uncooperative or unclear. Prepare yourself for dirty looks from the line behind you. I’ve received countless dirty looks but no one ever says anything. I figure when/if they do I’ll simply ask them if they wanted to pay for my groceries. Seems fair, if they want to grip then they can swipe! Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks for walking me through this Heather.

So, are you saying the the “M” in the corner of the yellow coupon for the free HEB brand toilet paper, is actually a manufactures coupon for the HEB brand NOT the Quilted Northern brand? Thus I should be able to use both? Sorry for the confusion, but this is only my second week and I am still overwhelmed. I felt somewhat defeated last week when the cashier turned my online coupon away and left me to choose one or the other, so I want to make sure I know what’s right next time.

The HEB I shop at is in Taylor, TX (in the Austin, Metro Area).

Thanks again for helping me get the hang of this.

The yellow coupons are considered a manufacture coupon when marked with the “M”. Almost every yellow coupon is marked this way. You ARE allowed to use a manufacture coupon on the item you ARE PAYING for. In this case the Quilted Northern. Getting the H-E-B brand free is a promotion set up by the store and is none other than it’s store brand. SO, you are only using (1) MFG coupon. H-E-B is not getting reimbursed by Quilted Northern b/c they gave you their brand free. This is just H-E-B’s way of persuading you to purchase their brand.

You ARE NOT allowed to use MFG coupons on the items the yellow coupon gives you free. i.e. If you purchase Tyson nuggets and (with the yellow coupon) get Hidden Valley Ranch free, you CAN NOT use a $1/1 Hidden Valley Coupon.

Make sense? I know it sounds pretty crazy and when you’re first starting out is a bit overwhelming at times but I promise you will get it.

Where is the H-E-B you’re having trouble with?

Hi – I’m new to couponing and have a question about HEB and their B1G1 coupons. With the B1G1 coupons (the Quilted Northern/HEB Quilted for example), are you also allowed to use a manufactures coupon? I tried last week to use the online printable $.50 off of Quilted Northern, as well as the yellow coupon to receive the free HEB Quilted TP, but was told that I could only use one or the other, is this correct? I have read their coupon policy several times but am still confused. Any help you can provide is appreciated!
