$383 — Paris from Dallas (Roundtrip, incl. Tax)
By Kim Liang Tan

DALLAS–OCTOBER 04, 2013– Flights to Paris, France, from Dallas just dropped to $383 roundtrip, including taxes — the lowest price we’ve seen on this route.

Travel is widely available Jan. 15 – March 15. This fare — which saves as much as $600 on the usual cost of this route — requires a four- to seven-hour layover in Mexico City.

Note: The fare, which can be found by using Fly.com’s Fare Calendar, is not part of an official sale and could disappear at any time.

Then we click over to the Fly.com site where we find the deal and it says it will be $382.97.  I spent forever trying to get the site to load up with the right times and days.  We looked at flights for February, March, and then decided on January so we could all fly together.  Once we were ready to book it I clicked on it where it redirected me to ANOTHER site called CheapOAir.  CheapOAir then reads the flight will be the same price as Fly.com presented.

I fill out the booking information and credit card information and hit submit only to come to a page that says the flight is booked at this price by someone else and I need to find another time or before offering this asked me to pay extra to get this flight.  So wait?  It is already booked at this price but you are advertising it across TravelZoo, Fly.com, and even on your own site?  How is this possible?  Isn’t this illegal?

Here you can see the screen shots where the scam took place on CheapOAir.com’s website.  The price of your flight has changed from $1148.91 (for 3 travelers) to $4676.91 (Your credit card has not been charged).  We know exactly what they are doing.  It is a scam and they should be called out.  Basically every flight time we tried it came up with the same scam message.
